Teen SOYO is the youth movement of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America. Their motto is “Living the Orthodox Faith through Worship, Witness, Fellowship, and Service.”
Our teens participate in many activities, such as spiritual discussions led by Fr. Nektarios and the youth director Michelle Ibrahim, open talks on issues relevant to being a teenager in today’s world, participating in charitable activities such as making sandwiches & gift baskets for the homeless, as well as simply having fun and fellowship together (examples are our recent “Milkshake and Movie Night.”) Our teens are very active and knowledgeable of their faith; for example, at our 2012 Parish Life Conference, our Teen SOYO team won the Bible Bowl competition, and two of our teens took first and second place at the Conference’s Oratorical Competition.
Teen SOYO meetings are usually held on Friday evenings from late August – late June, at 6:00 pm, for youth ages 13-19.
